ABOUT MELINDA WARSHAW
Acclaimed artist/designer Melinda Warshaw has created a unique first-of-its-kind collection of signed handmade art cards for people on the adoption journey, separated by adoption and in reunion, though the sentiments are universal in their appeal and the cards can also be used for various occasions.
Melinda has
worked in a variety of media, including watercolor,
drawings, portraits, pastels, pressed flowers and
three-dimensional collage. She has created cards and
achieved great success for Neiman Marcus, Constance
Kay Inc., and Therese St. Clair Stationers in Greenwich,
Connecticut.
Melinda, an adoptee herself, has found inspiration
rooted in her unique background and family ties. Her
adoptive grandfather, Ira W. Clokey and natural family backgrounds
are steeped in art, nature, music and education. Through
her experiences, Melinda has created cards for all
occasions and some that celebrate adoption search
and reunions and touch the hearts of both the sender
and receiver.
Melinda was raised in Kettering, Ohio by her adoptive
family and was reacquainted with her natural parents
at the age of 33. She studied visual art at San Jose
State University and earned her B.S. in Creative Design
from Purchase College, State University of New York.
Melinda currently lives in New York State. |
